This once obscure practice was brought into the mainstream by the international television hit Storage Wars when it debuted on A&E December 1, 2010. Today the show is broadcast in close to 20 countries and has drawn scores of wannabe auction hunters to lien sales across the country hoping to strike gold in a 10×10.
